Preparation
Before sanding begins, we meticulously prepare your floor to ensure a flawless finish. This includes removing all nails, staples, pins, and any other fasteners that might damage our sanding equipment or compromise the surface quality.
For example, we use specialized nail-punch machines to safely and efficiently drive in or remove nails. This careful prep prevents equipment damage and avoids costly delays, so your sanding proceeds smoothly from start to finish.
Floor Sanding
Our sanding process is designed to balance and smooth every plank, removing years of scratches, stains, and imperfections. We start with a coarse 40-grit sandpaper to level the surface and eliminate rough areas.
Next, we use progressively finer grits (80 grit and medium range) to refine the floor’s texture. Finally, we finish with 120-grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth, polished look. The edges and corners receive special attention with hand sanding for perfect detail.
After sanding, any minor cracks or holes are filled with a high-quality wood filler. Once dry, the floor is finely sanded again and prepped for the finishing coat.
Floor Coating
We apply a premium, eco-friendly water-based polyurethane finish that offers superior durability and fast drying times. Unlike traditional oil-based coatings, water-based polyurethanes emit fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making them safer for your home and the environment.
